November 2010

The 'Abandoned?' team are currently completing the production of the documentary film as well as preparing the exhibition work and organising the event ‘Abandoned? Exposed’ that will take place at a number of the cities visited on the journey.

The team have also been developing new tools to increase the impact and effectiveness of the work of association 'Abandoned?'

These tools include:

• a network of photographers, filmmakers, writers and artists interested in documenting abandoned places, capturing their beauty and telling their stories.
• a network of recyclers, architects, urbanists, students, teachers, builders, academics, conservationists, public and private institutions, creatives and others interested in the restoration, conservation, recycling or reuse of abandoned places.
• a photographic and audio-visual image bank on the theme of 'Abandoned?' that will be available for research and education as well as for artistic and commercial uses.

January 2010

During 2011 the 'Abandoned?' team will be organising a series of exhibitions across Europe. Besides the photography of Julia Clay and Geppe Monrós some photographic work by people in some of the countries visited will also be included. This work will be of an abandoned place that the photographer is able to revisit at a later date to take another photo from the same position. The idea is to show the passing of time at an abandoned place no matter if the building has been demolished, transformed or left to nature. If you are interested in hearing more about this exciting photographic opportunity please click here to download a PDF or contact the 'Abandoned?' team. [email] [pdf]

The 'Abandoned?' team would also like to hear from people living in any of the countries listed below who have ideas on abandoned or once abandoned places to visit in their country...get in touch!
