Debates:
Running alongside some of the planned exhibitions will be a screening of the documentary film, ‘Abandoned?’ directed by Geppe Monrós. The film will be followed by a debate where local and international experts will be invited to discuss and answer questions from the public about their experiences, solutions and views on reusing abandoned places as well as conserving them. The aim is to encourage discussion and debate on the subject of 'Abandoned?'
The 'Abandoned?' team are keen to hear from others with experience in the reuse or conservation of abandoned places who are interested in participating in the debates.

Workshops:
These workshops can be taught in English or Spanish. They are suitable for children or adults and are fully adaptable for all age groups from 7 years upwards.
There is a workshop version for non-native English speakers when extra time is spent correcting pronunciation, grammar, spelling and teaching new vocabulary.

Each workshop is divided into three parts.
i) the history of abandoned places in the local area and the stories they hold and beauty that they hide.
ii) different re-use solutions at a variety of once abandoned places in Europe.
iii) In pairs or small groups the students will be given interior and exterior photographs of an abandoned building in their town so they can discuss, develop and illustrate re-use possibilities using a variety of different media.

At the end of the workshop there will be an exhibition of the ideas and artwork produced. There will also be an online gallery of these results where students are able to compare and comment on each other’s ideas and work.
