Abandoned? is a project by Geppe Monrós in collaboration with the not-for-profit organisation Association Abandoned? (registered with the Generalitat de Catalunya, Spain reg.# 39689) and also a European network of 40 people or organisations in 16 countries across Europe including the Bristish visual artist and photographer Julia Clay.
In their individual artistic careers, Geppe and Julia have witnessed the unnecessary destruction of abandoned buildings and the communities, which developed within and around them, as well as the excessive consumerist squandering which threatens to overload the planet with waste. In this project, they unite their passion for exploring abandoned spaces and the stories they hold, with their desire to raise awareness regarding the need to reuse or conserve these spaces and help to maintain our environment.
Julia and Geppe have over 30 years experience working in the creative industries. This work has included film production and post production, photography, animation, illustration as well as directing, script writing, acting and teaching digital arts.
